Configuring your App-V Management Server for dynamic database ports
September 7, 2011 Leave a comment
In order to configure your App-V Management Server and App-V Management Service for MSSQL dynamic ports, the following changes have to be made:
- The registry value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\SoftGrid\4.5\Server\SQLServerPort should be 0, and
- The Network Address settings in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft System Center App Virt Management Server\App Virt Management Service\sftmgt.udl should not contain any port. This will normally contain the port number used when the service was installed.
Note: The aforementioned changes are only applicable if your App-V datastore has been reconfigured to use dynamic data ports after installation of the App-V Management Server and Service. The locations of the registry value and the sftmgt.udl will be dependent on your platform i.e. 32 bit or 64 bit and the installation directory for the application.
